When does the Formula E season start?

The Formula E season start is usually one of the first motorsport events on the yearly calendar, and 2024 will be no difference. The 2024 Formula E season starts with the Mexico City E-Prix on the 13th January. At the FIA Prize Giving Gala on Friday, Jake Dennis spoke about how eager he is to get started in the New Year.

When is the first Formula E race of the 2024 season?

Season 10 starts with the Mexico City E-Prix on Saturday, 13th January 2024. The drivers will get two free practice sessions on Friday 12 before going out for qualifying on Saturday morning. The race takes place in the afternoon local time. But what about pre-season testing?

Testing took place in Valencia between 23rd and 27th October 2023. 19 of the 21 drivers on-track in the final session set fastest-lap times, all within just 0.7 seconds. New Zealanders Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy topped the timesheets for Jaguar. Antonio Felix Da Costa rounded out the top three. Jake Dennis finished with the 12th fastest time, while Nyck de Vries finished 18th fastest.

The 2024 Formula E calendar

Formula 1 racing doesn't start until the first Saturday in March. Before then, four rounds of season 10 in Formula E will be complete. Two weeks after the event in Mexico, Formula E heads to Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, for a doubleheader. Round 4 takes place in India on February 10.

There are two events in March. The Sao Paulo E-Prix takes place on March 16 before the series heads to Tokyo for the very first time. This race takes place on March 30. The series then heads to Europe for a doubleheader in Italy and a trip to Monaco. Four rounds take place in May at two venues. First, the Berlin E-Prix is followed by a trip to China. A doubleheader then takes place in Portland at the end of June before the season finale on July 20 and July 21 in London.
