Who is the "GPblog Driver of the Day" for the Qatar Grand Prix

Max Verstappen has been voted driver of the day by the GPblog audience. On the weekend of securing his world title, the Dutchman was in his traditional P1 place throughout qualifying and the race.

Max Verstappen didn't receive too much threat throughout the race and went about business by himself. The Dutchman secured 35% of the votes but only three votes separated him and Oscar Piastri as the Australian driver gathered 32% of the share. It was yet another very impressive weekend for himself and McLaren on the whole. Piastri benefitted from the clash between the two Mercedes drivers allowing him to squeeze his way through and straight into P2. Another weekend to remember for the young rising star.

Other Votes

In what was a frustrating day for Mercedes after an early collision between George Russell and Lewis Hamilton it was a good salvation recovery from Russell as he manoeuvred his way into P4 after the terrible start. Russell received 19% of the votes. Lando Norris who finished P3 got 4% of the vote, and another 4% fell to Zhou whose impressive climb from 19th to 9th saw him jump into the points on a rare occasion.
