We already knew it was going to happen, but it was finally confirmed yesterday that Sergio Perez will be staying at Racing Point Force India next season for his sixth consecutive campaign with the team.
Perez has had much success with the team and is considered a talented, if sometimes erratic, driver.
It seems like Perez has been in Formula One for ages, but the Mexican is still only 28 and has a lot left to give to the sport yet.
He has managed to score a podium in all but one of his five years with Force India and a run of seven points finishes in his last nine may have convinced his bosses to keep him on another year.
Force India have come out of a rather turbulent summer with new owners and new ambitions. There are plans to invest heavily in the team in the hope of regaining the sort of from they had in 2016 or 2017, or perhaps even more.

Perez said: “I think the level of investment, where the team is going to start next season, the development rate, we have big expectations.
“The team has been so limited for so many years, now we have maximised the resources. Now that we will have more resources, we should have the right guidance and should be really strong.”
