Toto Wolff attracted a lot of attention after the race in Monza. Max Verstappen won the Italian Grand Prix, breaking the record for most consecutive wins. After the race, Wolff said such things are just for Wikipedia. Former Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg thinks his team boss should not have said this.

Wolff with remarkable statement on Verstappen record

In Italy, Verstappen won his tenth race in a row, which has never happened before in Formula 1 history. The previous record stood at nine consecutive wins, which had been set by Sebastian Vettel. Wolff did not have a good word to say for the Dutchman and his team Red Bull Racing after the record-breaking victory, and Rosberg thinks so.

"I think Toto got in a moment there where he was not too happy about his own race team’s performance on the weekend because where did they finish? Fifth and sixth, yeah? So finishing fifth and sixth and miles behind Ferrari and Red Bull is not the goal so I think Toto is a ‘bit down there’ and made his answer a bit darker, not quite as gracious as perhaps he normally would be because I think the right answer would have been, ‘yeah, hats off and respect to Red Bull for these achievements'," the one-time world champion told the Sky Sports F1 podcast.
