With one final race to go in the IndyCar season, Alex Palou has crowned himself champion for the second time. The Spaniard managed to win the penultimate race in Portland yesterday, making it impossible to overtake him.

In 2023, the Spaniard competed in his fourth season in the IndyCar series. In this, he already became champion once, in 2021. Last year, in 2022, he finished fifth in the championship. So now he is back on top in the championship and cannot be overtaken with one race to go.

Palou happy after second IndyCar title

"That's what we wanted," Palou begins in his post-race interview. "Obviously, it was an amazing weekend overall. We just had really fast cars. We knew we had to go for it, and we just raced how we've been doing all season. So yeah, super proud to be here in Victory lane, super proud to celebrate the second championship, and the fifteenth for the team."
