Liam Lawson finished his first career race in P13 in his AlphaTauri in the Netherlands. The driver from New Zealand was called up to compete after Daniel Ricciardo broke his wrist, and as far as Christian Horner is concerned, Lawson did a solid job at Zandvoort.

Christian Horner was satisfied with Lawson’s first race in Formula 1. "I mean, in very difficult circumstances, in a car he'd never driven, having missed out on the Friday running, at a tricky track in raining conditions, it was very tough for him, but I thought he acquitted himself very well, very maturely and did a solid job during the race. So, yeah, I think he ticks all the boxes."

The British team principal also said they are closely following Lawson’s progress, and it is a great chance for him to show what he is capable of at the highest level. "Well, it's, it's a great opportunity for him, and for any driver to get themselves in a Grand Prix car, you have got to make the most of it, and this is a golden moment in his career for him to demonstrate what he's capable of. We're obviously following his progress very closely, and Daniel's misfortune was Liam's good fortune, so it's down to him to make the best use of it."
