Championship leader Lewis Hamilton might have won the Russian Grand Prix, but the Brit admitted that the win "doesn't feel great" as his teammate Valtteri Bottas let him past so he could extend his championship lead.

That championship-lead to Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel is now 50 points with just five races to go, which means it's very unlikely that the German will catch Hamilton now.

The way Hamilton got his eighth win of the season though, was conflicting for the reigning champion, as his teammate simply gave it to him after he'd been in front of him all race, with Bottas grabbing pole position and holding on to P1 for the bulk of the race.

At the press conference, Hamilton reiterated that he didn't like the way he won, as it even came out on the radio that he wanted to give the win back to Bottas.

"It doesn't feel great," Hamilton said.

"I don't think I've ever finished first and feel the way I do right now.

"It's definitely a very conflicting feeling because naturally you want to extend the championship lead, but we are a team and there are two championships.

"Valtteri has done an exceptional job all weekend, and yesterday in qualifying and you could see how happy I was for him there.

"I assured Valtteri it's not something I asked for, but it's what the team feels is right to do.

"It's a very awkward position to be in."
