No knee-jerk reaction at Williams says Paddy Lowe

Paddy Lowe, the Techincal officer at Williams, says the team will not make any major changes to the car following early season woes. As we approach the halfway point, the British team have scored just four points. They have the only driver, Sergey Sirotkin, to be pointless this season.

At Silverstone, their woes continued with both drivers having to start the race from the pit-lane. Lowe confirms they will not change the concept of the car following this recent disappointment.

"I think we'll just keep doing the best we can with this car. We do keep making steps," Lowe said in an interview on racefans.

"We will migrate these steps to make them more simply purely relevant to next year rather than things that are not only relevant to this car."

Former Williams World Champion Jacques Villeneuve said earlier the team were "dead". But Lowe claims they are still able to work on next seasons car and will make progress.

"You work more and more, even on the current car, with things that are relevant to next year," added Lowe.

Williams will look at their closest rivals Sauber for motivation. Sauber themselves were in a similar situation last season and have managed to dig themselves out. But the Alfa-Romeo deal will not be on the table for Williams.
