Max Verstappen's refusal to let his teammate Sergio Perez pass him in the final stages of the Brazilian Grand Prix not only surprised Perez but also Helmut Marko.

Red Bull immediately sat down with drivers

Perez was heavily disappointed with his teammate's attitude and he can count on Marko's understanding. The Red Bull advisor says the team immediately sat down with both drivers after the race and assures that Verstappen will indeed help his teammate in Abu Dhabi to secure second place in the championship.

"Our goal is for Checo to finish second in the championship, and Max will do everything he can to help him do that. That's all I have to say," Marko told ORF. Speaking to the German branch of Sky Sports, he added: "We have now discussed what happened. It has all been sorted out internally. We are working as a team, the starting point is Abu Dhabi and Max will do everything he can to help Sergio get that second place."
