The soap opera surrounding Red Bull Racing's budget cap story continues. On the Saturday of the United States Grand Prix weekend, no decision has yet been made. Sources on the paddock, in turn, say Red Bull is lamenting the FIA's laborious communication. Christian Horner would have preferred to sit down with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem on Thursday, but in the end this only became Friday. As a result, Red Bull's planned press conference also had to be postponed again.

The aforementioned medium reported that the FIA had already proposed a penalty to Red Bull about a week ago. Reportedly, 25 per cent of the total wind tunnel time will be withheld for next season and a fine will be issued. A retrospective penalty with a points deduction for 2021 would be off the table. However, the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez does not agree with this proposal.

Red Bull must submit everything

Team boss Christian Horner wants clarity soon, but what does not help is that he has to consult everything the Mateschitz family, the owner of the Austrian can giant, according to AMuS. If Red Bull undergoes a punishment and thus agrees that it is guilty, it will have an impact not only on the F1 team's image, but on the entire Red Bull brand.
