Pierre Gasly has renewed his contract with Red Bull despite the many rumours surrounding his future. The Frenchman will be racing for AlphaTauri again next year and he is very grateful to Red Bull for that.

It is no secret that Gasly would love to make the move to Red Bull Racing. The young driver, like every other F1 driver, has the dream of becoming a world champion and that is not something he can achieve at AlphaTauri. It must have hurt that Sergio Perez was given a new contract until 2024, but Helmut Marko says Gasly is free to go where he wants after 2023.

Future of Gasly

That will not be the case in 2023, as Red Bull has lifted the option in Gasly's contract to work together for another year. Although Gasly would like to make the next step, according to Motorsport-total.com that he is very grateful to Red Bull. ''Without Red Bull I would not have been in F1,'' the driver is very realistic.

Gasly even had a chance at Red Bull Racing in 2019, but as a replacement for Daniel Ricciardo, Gasly disappointed alongside Max Verstappen. After just six months, his dream shattered and he was replaced by Alexander Albon. Gasly still describes his relationship with Red Bull as very successful.
