Helmut Marko has a satisfied feeling about Red Bull Racing's first half of the season. With Max Verstappen, it managed to take first place in the world championship and a comfortable lead over Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. Nevertheless, Marko is certain that the Dutchman is not there yet.

Verstappen's fine victory in Hungary enabled him to widen the gap to Leclerc to eighty points. With only nine races remaining, in theory Verstappen has enough to finish second in every Grand Prix.

Marko in conversation with Motorsport-total.com calls it 'extremely risky' when the Austrians would choose to go for silver every race. According to Red Bull's advisor, the team should rely on its own qualities and keep a close eye on the competition.

It is reported that Ferrari will come up with an update to the engine before September. Moreover, Leclerc and Carlos Sainz already had excellent cars in the first half of the season and Mercedes is also coming back, so Marko knows a lot can still happen.

Marko has faith in Verstappen

Marko is convinced that Red Bull could not wish for a better driver in Verstappen. He argues that the reigning world champion is able to get the most out of his car every race without taking too many risks or causing damage.
