Red Bull loans Daruvala to McLaren to get his super licence
Jehan Daruvala has completed his first kilometres in a Formula 1 car. The Red Bull Racing talent made a trip to McLaren to take his first F1 test, immediately gathering enough points on his licence to apply for his super license.
Daruvala completed a total of 130 laps on the Silverstone circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday. He did so in the MCL35M, the McLaren car of 2021. In doing so, he completed his first ever F1 test and - perhaps more importantly - collected enough points to qualify for a super license.

The test went smoothly for the Indian driver, who said he enjoyed his first experience in a Formula One car. He completed a programme of alternating runs with large and small amounts of fuel on different compounds.
"I felt at home straight away and although it was more physically demanding than anything I have driven in before, I had no problems with my fitness," he said according to FormulaRapida.net.
As a result, the programme went off without a hitch and the Red Bull talent says he got a good insight into how teams work during an F1 weekend.
"I felt I could get closer to the limit every lap and I can't wait to drive one of these cars again," summarised Daruvala.
