Sainz started this season solidly with a second place behind his teammate Charles Leclerc in Bahrain, but has often failed to stay near the top of the field in the races since. As a result, the Spaniard says he would rather have reliability than speed from Ferrari.

In Baku, Sainz had his third failure of this season, which means he already seems to be losing the connection to the top three. The Spaniard has even more to fear from George Russell of Mercedes who is coming up in the championship. During the press conference of the Canadian Grand Prix, Sainz let it be known that the team has found out the problem that caused him to retire in Baku.

Sainz seems confident in team

It was a tough weekend for Ferrari, as a few laps later Leclerc also dropped out of the race with engine problems. During the press moment, Sainz also let it be known that in the future he would rather have a reliable engine that is perhaps a little less fast than a fast engine with reliability problems.

Motorsport-total.com quotes the Ferrari driver: "It was a strange hydraulic problem that the team has not seen in years. Fortunately, the team thinks it's easy to fix. It is bad luck for me, but I am not worried. The team looks calm and doesn't seem worried that it will happen again."
