Yuki Tsunoda could not put a second consecutive points finish behind his name after a tough Miami Grand Prix, in which he started ninth but finished a disappointing 12th.

In the laps after the start, the Japanese driver fell back from ninth to 12th place, after which AlphaTauri brought him in for a pit stop. After this, he fell all the way back to the back field, making a points finish unattainable.

Tsunoda calls difference with Imola 'frustrating'

"From the first lap I just had no grip at all," Tsunoda complained after the race to Formula1.com. "I really struggled to keep up with the pace and I got overtaken a lot." He also struggled in free air. It just wasn't in it for the Japanese driver.

He speaks of a big contrast with the previous race in Imola, where Tsunoda managed to climb from twelfth to seventh place. He calls that contrast 'frustrating', because according to the driver it feels like AlphaTauri has taken a step back instead of forward.
