Lewis Hamilton has lashed out at himself on Instagram. The seven-time world champion is making a clear statement to his critics who doubt he should retire.
A thirteenth place finishes at the Imola Grand Prix was not what Hamilton expected before the 2022 Formula One season. The Briton is disappointed and has already given up hope of a world title in 2022. Yet it is not as if the Mercedes driver has given up on his dream of winning eight world titles.

Hamilton is not giving up

With the lesser performance of Mercedes' W13 and Hamilton himself losing a lot of ground on George Russell, there were noises about possible retirement. Helmut Marko had to chuckle about Hamilton stating that he would have been better off retiring last year as he was now being lapped by Max Verstappen.
Hamilton himself has no intention of stopping. On Instagram on Wednesday, he posted a message with the following caption: ''I am working on my masterpiece. I'm the one who decides when it's over,'' said the seven-time world champion. It caused thousands of reactions to his post.
