At the start of the season Aston Martin hoped to be in the midfield of the drivers' field, but it didn't work out at all in the first three Grands Prix. With zero points and a last place in the Constructors' Championship the worries are also great for Andy Green, he told Auto, Motor und Sport.

The Aston Martin technical director saw his team run a messy season for the time being. Because Sebastian Vettel had to miss the first two races due to contracting the coronavirus, Nico Hulkenberg filled in twice. Together with Lance Stroll, Aston Martin has not yet managed to finish in the top ten.

Green sees problem with porpoising

The problem with porpoising, as with some other teams, seems to play a big factor in the current performance. It causes Vettel and Stroll to lose speed and therefore not have the opportunity to fight with the competition.

"Some teams are simply less affected by porpoising because the flow field of their cars works with more ground clearance," Green explained. "Others that have gone our way are now in big trouble because our cars are losing huge amounts of lap time." Green expresses hope, however, that his racing stable will soon find a way to fix the problem.
