Sainz impresses: 'Have made friends in most cases'

Carlos Sainz has driven for three teams in his Formula 1 career and has therefore had many different teammates. The fast Spaniard says he has a good relationship with all his previous teammates.

Sainz had a strong first year at Ferrari. The driver came over from McLaren and managed to finish four times on the podium in his first season with the Scuderia. He also beat teammate Charles Leclerc in the final standings.

Both Leclerc and team boss Mattia Binotto let it be known that Sainz has made a good impression on the track as well as a good personal impression. Sainz says in conversation with SpeedWeek.com that besides his current team he also keeps good relations with his previous employers.

"I feel like I have made friends in most cases. I try to maintain good relationships, even if in some cases you don't see each other so often," the Madrid-based driver said.
