Tennis superstar Jannik Sinner paid tribute to fellow Italians Kimi Antonelli and Marco Bezzecchi after all three won their respective sporting events this weekend. First up, Kimi Antonelli claimed a dominant victory in Suzuka and is now the
youngest ever driver to lead the Formula 1 World Championship. He is also the first Italian since Giancarlo Fisichella to win an F1 race.
The same day, Marco Bezzecchi claimed an
even more convincing win in COTA, leading every lap from first to last and setting a new MotoGP record for the most consecutive race laps led at 121.
That evening, tennis world #2 Jannik Sinner won the Miami Open after a straight-set 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jiri Leheckha and used the opportunity to bring light to his fellow countrymen's achievements.
The trio completed a legendary hattrick of victories for Italian sport which certainly bodes well for the future. Bezzecchi is the oldest of the three at just 27 years, and seems to be just hitting his prime now, while Sinner is 24 and Antonelli is only 19 years old.
Sinner signed the camera "Bez, Kimi, Italia" - it is rare to see
MotoGP get such recognition, but given that 'Bez' is the current championship leader and has looked unbeatable at the start of the season, it seems that Italy may have found its newest star.
