Rossi can be 'intimidating', says VR46's new rider: 'I can call him at any moment'

Aldeguer already has a contract with Ducati for next season. As the Spaniard is still competing for Gresini Racing this campaign, the Italian team has signed former MotoGP world champion Joan Mir and Daniel Holgado for 2027.

Aldeguer also has no place at the Ducati factory team after the manufacturer opted to sign fellow Murcian Pedro Acosta to partner Marc Marquez. That means the only available Ducati seat for Aldeguer is at VR46.

Speaking to Onda Regional de Murcia, Aldeguer addressed what it will be like to work closely with Rossi.

He said: "At first, it's a bit intimidating. He won't be at every race, but I've been told I can call him and rely on him for anything related to competitiveness. There are few people better suited to help me, and I should take advantage of it. His guidance will allow me to grow and make me a better driver. He'll help me see things more deeply."

About joining a new team, he continued: "I need to adapt to the new team, but I have no doubt I'll be warmly welcomed. Adaptation will be key because the bike, even though it's a Ducati, will be new to everyone. It's about arriving, taking the time, working together... and growing."

Marquez signed a two-year deal with the Italian team. Aldeguer plans to ride for the factory team as well, possibly alongside Acosta.

He continued: "I think it will happen someday. My goal is to ride for the factory Ducati team someday, and Pedro will have many years ahead of him there. Why not?"
