MotoGP Friday Practice Results: Bezzechi on top as Ducati struggle in Assen

It was a searing hot afternoon practice session as the riders took to the legendary Assen Circuit to determine who would get a place in Q2 and who would be relegated to Q1 for tomorrow.
Aprilia were back on top in the afternoon session as Marco Bezzecchi topped the session ahead of Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura.
Ducati struggled at the high-speed track compared with previous weeks. Marquez finished the session in P6 after setting a good time and saving his energy. Meanwhile Pecco Bagnaia struggled throughout the afternoon but managed to put in a good lap when it counted to go P5.
Fermin Aldeguer suffered a violent crash at Turn 11 when he low-sided and then took a huge hit from the gravel trap and was taken to the medical centre. It is unclear yet whether he will participate in the rest of the weekend.
Jorge Martin also had a fast crash at the same corner when he took a little too much kerb and lost the front towards the end of the session. Alex Marquez then brought out the red flag with a highside at the same corner again, the Spaniard could barely get himself back on his feet afterwards but eventually walked away with the help of the marshals.

Morbidelli was also noted for dangerously obstructing Tech3's Enea Bastianini, though a penalty verdict has yet to be confirmed.
