MotoGP FP1 Results: Bezzecchi bounces back as Marquez crashes in Assen

MotoGP returns to the legendary Assen Circuit this weekend for what could be a season-defining Dutch Grand Prix.
It was a hot FP1 session as riders brace for temperatures of up to 38 degrees with track temperatures expected to exceed 50 degrees and cause major tyre issues later in the weekend.
Aprilia reasserted themselves as the team to beat in Assen after their disastrous weekends in Hungary and Czechia. Marco Bezzecchi comfortably topped the session ahead of Pecco Bagnaia, meanwhile Jorge Martin, Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez were all in the top six.
Marc Marquez and Diogo Moreira will both be disappointed with the session after crashing while on good laps. However, both riders were completely unharmed and later rejoined.
Acosta cut a frustrated figure in the KTM garage as he struggled to make any sort of in-roads on the top ten. Maverick Vinales was the best-placed of the team in P9.
