The first official competitive session of the 2026 season has finally taken place at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.
It was a difficult session for all the riders as
unpredictable weather conditions loomed throughout.
Marco Bezzecchi followed up his solid performance in testing with another lap record in Buriram, hitting a best time of 1:28.526 and clearing the rest of the field by a notable distance.
Marc Marquez was second-best with a fastest lap of 1:28.947 while VR46's Di Giannantonio rounded out the top three.

It was a solid session for Pedro Acosta and Jorge Martin who rounded out the top five, while Alex Marquez, Joan Mir, Brad Binder, Ai Ogura and Johann Zarco also made it through to Q2.
Elsewhere, it was not such a good session for the likes of Pecco Bagnaia, who
largely struggled to make an impact and ultimately finished outside the top 10.
All four Yamaha bikes will also be joining him in Q1 along with Marini, Vinales, Fernandez, Morbidelli, Bastianini and rookie Diogo Moreria.
