Marc Marquez won the Qatar Grand Prix sprint race in dramatic fashion, surviving a Jorge Martin charge after a controversial crash with Marco Bezzecchi.
Bezzecchi took pole position to keep his faint title chances alive, but on lap 4 they were ended by a crash with Marquez.
Bezzecchi saw a chance to pass the Ducati rider heading into Turn 1, and went in hot as Marquez went wide.
However, as Marquez came back onto the racing line, Bezzecchi was there, and the pair made heavy contact.
Marquez was able to stay on, but Bezzecchi slid out, ending his race and title chances.

Marquez needed eight points over the Aprilia rider to take him out of the fight, and collected 12 with a win.
Martin makes heroic charge
Immediately after the crash, the man second in the championship, Jorge Martin incredibly jumped into the lead despite a broken wrist.
Yet it didn’t take long for Marquez to get him back and claim victory.
Then, on the final lap, Martin was passed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, pushing him down to third, leaving Marquez with the chance of winning his 10th world title in Sunday’s Grand Prix.

As the final laps ticked down, the race stewards announced that there would be no punishment for Marquez or Bezzecchi over their crash.
The cameras instantly switched to Massimo Rivola, who applauded sarcastically and shook his head at the decision.
Bezzecchi wasn't the only rider unable to finish the race, as Marquez's Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia suffered a heavy crash on Turn 1, red flagging the race.
