MotoGP FP1 Results: Marquez crashes as Raul Fernandez takes top spot in Germany

The first session of the German Grand Prix has concluded at the Sachsenring and it was certainly an interesting one to say the least.
Marc Marquez started off the weekend in which he is favourite to win with a low speed crash at Turn 3 on his very first lap, wrecking the right side of his Ducati and having to return to the pits early. Upon returning to the track, he quickly went top ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio.
Raul Fernandez then stole the top spot, continuing his good run of form from recent weeks, but the other Aprilia's were off the pace with Ai Ogura down in P20 and the factory duo of Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi in P10 and P8 respectively.
Franco Morbidelli also suffered a bizarre crash at the same corner, with slow-mo replays showing a massive bump right at the apex of the corner, an issue all riders will have to be wary of for the remainder of the weekend.
Maverick Vinales also suffered a crash which won't help his ongoing contract saga with Guenther Steiner, however he quickly recovered to go into the top 10 - the highest ranked of all KTM riders.
