The first race of the day took place in the Moto3 class on a dry circuit, with Joel Esteban starting on pole for the first time in his career. Unfortunately,
he suffered from a huge highside and was out of the race on lap 7 before being taken to the medical center for further checks.
Championship leader David Almansa also crashed out on lap 13 and missed out on his chance to win his second race of the season. There were also crashes for several other riders, causing concern that
the circuit might be facing some issues as has been the case throughout the week.
The red flags were thrown on lap 15 after the double high-side incidents, with Quiles taking advantage and holding off his Aspar teammate for the victory.
Indonesian rookie Veda Pratama also secured a very impressive podium in just his second race in the class.
