Verstappen misses media day in Miami
Max Verstappen was not present in Miami on Thursday.
Red Bull Racing confirmed that is because
the driver is expecting the birth of his child with Kelly Piquet.
During the press conference sessions, many drivers were also asked about the Dutchman becoming a parent.
The only father on the grid, Nico Hulkenberg, explained from his experience that this will only benefit Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell also wished him the best.
After missing Day 0,
the Dutchman appears to be on his way to Miami, as the account dedicated to his private plane showed Verstappen's 8X jet took off.
In the 2026 season, an 11th team will join Formula 1:
Cadillac. The Americans will present themselves to the world this weekend in Miami, however, their first driver will not be announced.
Sergio Perez is in talks with the Americans, as well as with other driver.
GPblog could also learn the Mexican prefers to keep thinking about his future in this moment in time, but our website cannot confirm that multiple teams are interested in him.
Russell and Hamilton react to Ben Sulayem post on the FIA's International Sporting Code
On Instagram,
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem wrote last Monday that he is considering making changes to the International Sporting Code. These guidelines also consider swearing.
Lewis Hamilton also shared his thoughts on the matter.
"Ultimately, we don't hold a power seat at the table. And that needs to change in my opinion. If you look at other sports that have unions, that may be something that comes into play at some stage, but it's just, as I said, we don't want to control things. We just want to collaborate with them more and have our voices."
