F1 LIVE: The second free practice for the Eifel Grand Prix in Germany

Normally, the second free practice session before the Grand Prix is the best indicator, but will that be the case for the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring? With even lower temperatures on Saturday and Sunday, the question is whether teams and drivers will choose the right setup on Friday. You can follow it all with the GPblog live blog below.

The Eifel Grand Prix is on the Formula 1 calendar for the first time, but The Nürburgring is a classic circuit on the F1 calendar as it now returns for the first time since 2013. All helped by the coronavirus, because on the original calendar there was no race on German soil.

In the second free practice it is usually time for teams to do a number of qualifying runs and adjust the setup, but also to do a long race simulation. However, this weekend is quite unpredictable, so the data on Friday may turn out to be worth nothing on Saturday and Sunday.

It is now up to the drivers and the teams to deal with this data as well as possible. Keep an eye out for Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, who are the stars when it comes to these conditions.
