LIVE: Belgian Grand Prix qualifying

On Friday, Formula 1 still had to cope with changing conditions, but on Saturday morning it became clear that wet running will be needed. A soaking wet track for Formula 3 caused delays, but they did manage to complete the race.

Lots of rain in the Belgian hills

The F3-race was even delayed with one hour, before the race finally did start. The fans couldn't see much, as there was a lot of spray on the track so the cars were hardly visible. The F1 teams will be hoping that this will change during qualifying.
Max Verstappen will hope for a pole position for the Dutch fans, who are present in large numbers at Spa to support the Dutch driver of Red Bull Racing. Mercedes will be looking to build on their strong showing in Hungary. Follow all events from Spa-Francorchamps via GPblog's liveblog!

Qualifying in 2021

Mercedes took the lead of both World Championships prior to the summer break, and Lewis Hamilton traditionally turns up the heat after the summer break. The British driver is on fine form. He has topped the last two qualifying sessions and will look to make that a trio of P1's this afternoon.

Verstappen, however, has five pole positions to his name in 2021. They've added some upgrades to the car this weekend and will look to stop the Mercedes momentum.
