With the first practice session of the weekend now complete, attention turns to FP2 in Monte Carlo. Follow all the action from the Monaco Grand Prix second practice session live with GPblog here!
The streets of Monaco once again set the stage for a crucial second practice session, where teams are expected to continue fine-tuning their setups rather than fully switching to race simulations. FP1 was largely focused on experimentation and finding the right balance, and FP2 should offer a clearer picture of the pecking order heading into the rest of the weekend. While further adjustments are expected across the grid, the timing sheets could already hint at what might unfold on race Sunday.
As ever in Monaco, unpredictability remains part of the package. Tight margins, barriers close to the racing line, and the unique demands of the circuit often combine to produce drama at any moment. Join GPblog as we bring you every update from FP2 here.

Leclerc backed for Monaco success

Charles Leclerc has been tipped to shine at this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix by former Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko. The Monegasque will be aiming to bounce back after a difficult weekend in Montreal, where teammate Lewis Hamilton instead stole the headlines.
The 28-year-old has also recently signed a multi-year extension with Ferrari, a deal that could see him become the team’s longest-serving driver. Amid the celebrations surrounding his future, Marko believes Leclerc can add to his eight career wins and finally conquer his home race, highlighting the decisive importance of qualifying in Monaco, where track position is often key to victory.
For much of his Formula 1 career, Monaco has been a place of frustration for Leclerc. Despite frequently demonstrating front-running pace on the streets he knows better than anyone, a combination of mechanical issues, strategy calls and untimely setbacks has repeatedly denied him a long-awaited home win.

Will weather shake up FP2?

Friday’s running is expected to take place in largely dry conditions, with temperatures hovering around 25°C throughout the day.
However, rain cannot be completely ruled out, and as always in Monaco, weather could yet play a decisive role over the course of the weekend. For FP1 and FP2, conditions are expected to remain sunny and humid, with temperatures ranging between 19°C and 25°C and just a 4% chance of rain.
On Saturday, cloud cover is expected to increase slightly, with a modest 8% chance of rain for FP3 and qualifying, while temperatures remain stable between 19°C and 25°C. By Sunday, conditions become more uncertain for the race itself, with temperatures forecast between 21°C and 27°C and a 25% chance of rain.
