Everything is set for the third practice session at Silverstone. Will Hamilton manage to confirm his strong performance from yesterday? And can Verstappen bounce back after the issues he faced with his RB21? Make sure you follow FP3 LIVE with us!
The first day on track at Silverstone delivered yet another strong performance from McLaren, with Lando Norris—fresh off a hard-fought victory in Austria last weekend against his teammate—making a clear statement once again in front of his home crowd.
Surprisingly, but perhaps not so much given their recent strong form, Ferrari looked very competitive on the British track, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing second and third respectively, just two and three tenths off the pace.
Oscar Piastri secured fourth place, but like in qualifying at Spielberg, he suffered a significant gap in FP2. Max Verstappen finished fifth, once again struggling to tame his RB21, which showed clear signs of balance issues and understeer.
Speaking about his feelings at the end of the day, the Dutchman commented yesterday
: ''For me it was personally a pretty bad day.""The car had no balance and was also very difficult from corner to corner. A pretty bad day, I think, for us in general."
When asked to what extent the four-time world champion was hindered by the wind, he said: "A lot, but of course that's no excuse, because everybody has to deal with it? So it's not easy, but that's the same for everyone."
Will Verstappen bounce back in FP3 as he usually does? And will Hamilton confirm his strong form shown in the first two sessions? Or will McLaren once again steal the spotlight, sweeping aside the competition as they have all season long? We just have to wait less than an hour to find out. Make sure you follow FP3 LIVE with us!
