F1 LIVE | Free practice 2 for the 2023 F1 British Grand Prix

This is the GPblog liveblog of the second free practice session for the 2023 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Don't miss any of the action with the second practice session and Friday's finale in England.

The GP weekend is now in full swing and Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing are looking for another win. No points will be distributed today, but the teams are getting ready to give their all in qualifying on Saturday and in the race on Sunday.

Verstappen can set his personal record in terms of wins in a row with a win. Red Bull Racing can only extend its record to 11 with a win. This will put it on a par with McLaren. McLaren are not yet doing very well in 2023, although the team may have found their way back since Austria with upgrades. The team will again test out new upgrades during practice sessions.

This session will be split into two halves naturally. As always, the session will start with most teams running qualifying simulations. In the second part, teams will add fuel to their cars and see how they perform with more weight. This session takes place at a similar time to Sunday's race, however temperatures will be a lot cooler when the main event is carried out.
