The Monaco Grand Prix marks the second stop of the second triple header of the 2025
Formula 1 season, with this being a European tour for the
F1 circus, starting at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix last week, before finishing in Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix next week after the principality plays host to this weekend.
Last time out, it was Max Verstappen
who stepped onto the top of the podium with an impressive win in Imola, showing some impressive pace from the Red Bull that no one could hold onto.
The McLaren pair of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who have dominated proceedings and lead the constructors' championship by a healthy margin, could only take P2 and P3, respectively, while a fine performance from Lewis Hamilton saw him recover from P12 to take P4 in front of the Tifosi.
Championship standings coming into Monaco
Despite the P3 at Imola, Piastri still holds onto the championship lead with 146 points, a lead he has held since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Norris closed the gap with his P2 finish last weekend, now just 13 points away from retaking the championship lead, while Verstappen's win sees him just nine points away from Norris in second, 22 points off the top spot.
In the constructors' championship, it was another dominant day for McLaren, now sitting on 279 points, 132 points clear of any of their rivals.
Mercedes are the next to follow in the standings with 147 points, while Red Bull come just behind, 16 points away from the German team, before proceedings get underway in the principality.
