The British driver has been perfect so far this weekend at Interlagos: he won the Sprint from pole position and claimed all eight points.
Verstappen finished fourth in the Sprint, while Piastri did not finish the session after losing control of his MCL39 while exiting Turn 3 on the sixth lap.
As a result, Norris is now ahead of his teammate by nine points and the Red Bull driver by 39 points in the standings.
For the Dutchman, qualifying did not go well.
For the first time in his career, Verstappen was eliminated on pure pace in Q1. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda was also knocked out in the first session, while both Racing Bulls made it through to Q3. Isack Hadjar will start from P5.
While
Charles Leclerc managed to bounce back for Ferrari and rounded off the top three behind Norris and Kimi Antonelli in qualifying,
Lewis Hamilton was eliminated in Q2 for the second day running. There were no F1 champions in Q3, as
Fernando Alonso finished 11th as well.
