The podium was completed by the two Mercedes drivers, Kimi Antonelli and George Russell. Max Verstappen finished in fourth place starting from P6 on the grid.
Following a hard-fought battle between Fernando Alonso and Charles Leclerc, the Monegasque driver crossed the finish line in P5.
Lewis Hamilton came close to overtaking the Spaniard as well, but narrowly missed out on gaining another position after his superb start at Interlagos. Pierre Gasly claimed the final point of the Sprint at the Brazil GP.
