Former Formula 1 driver Robert Doornbos, who now works as a TV analyst, shared at the premiere of the Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt that Lando Norris is still recovering from his weekend in Canada.
Ahead of the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix, the former Red Bull Racing driver was asked by GPblog about his prediction. The Dutchman expects a McLaren driver to win at the Red Bull Ring.
“Verstappen will finish second, Oscar Piastri will win it and George Russell will be third,” he said.
The other McLaren driver, Lando Norris, is therefore missing from this top three, after he made contact with his teammate at the Canadian Grand Prix and did not finish the race.
According to the analyst, the Brit from Bristol will still be struggling after his blunder at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
“Norris is still in a fetal position on the couch, because he just had a terrible weekend in Canada. No, he's not going to win it,” he commented.

Disastrous move by Norris in Canada costing McLaren almost all points

On Lap 67 in Canada during the previous F1 weekend, Norris tried to go past his teammate on the start-finish straight, but he made contact with the McLaren ahead of him, and ended up in the wall as a result.
Jolyon Palmer described the maneuver as doomed from the start after the race. “Time for Lando to get his head back in the game. The difference between him and his teammate is now 22 points. The fact that Oscar did finish and scored important points will give McLaren some breathing room,” said the analyst on F1 TV at the time.
