Many noticed during the announcement of his official return to Formula 1 with Cadillac that Valtteri Bottas’ mullet looked shorter than usual. The Finn went on to explain the reason behind that choice.
Today, Tuesday, August 26, Cadillac finally unveiled its first-ever driver pairing for next season, when the American giant will make its absolute Formula 1 debut as the eleventh constructor on the grid.
GPblog already could reveal in an exclusive story over the Belgian Grand Prix that Valtteri Bottas is set to join the team.
His teammate will be Sergio Perez, with both returning after their current year without a full-time seat and ready to kick off another chapter in their Formula 1 careers.

No mullet restrictions for Bottas

At today’s official presentation of the two drivers, some also noticed that the Finn’s mullet—his trademark look for years—was noticeably shorter than usual. This even sparked a few questions, with Bottas shedding some light on the matter.
''I've still got a mullet,'' Valtteri responded to the question, clarifying whether the change was due to a corporate image request.
He then explained: ''Actually, it was a bit of an accident. Four weeks ago I went to a barber in Monaco and turns out they can't really do good mullets in Monaco, so they cut it too short.''
Finally, he added: ''It's still there. The style is still there and it always grows back, so don't worry, mullet is not going anywhere. No restrictions on that.''
