Weather forecast for the Turkish GP | Chance of rain and cold temperatures

Circumstances are expected to be a little better during the race in Turkey than during Saturday's qualifying session. The chance of rain has decreased, but it will remain particularly slippery at Istanbul Park. Moreover, the cold temperatures are not helping.
The chance of rain during the race is around 20%. If there is precipitation in the Turkish capital, it will not be very heavy showers. However, as we saw earlier this weekend, a few drops of rain can suddenly change the situation very much, so a spectacle is lurking.

Asphalt is not helping

It has everything to do with the new, slippery asphalt that was put down a few weeks ago. There is very little grip because there has been little driving on the Istanbul Park yet. There is a lack of rubber and that is why we saw a record number of spins on Friday and Saturday.
It is also extremely difficult to get the tyres up to temperature. It remains around 14 degrees so it will be important in the first few laps to get the temperature in the compounds quickly. The moment a driver manages to do that quickly, it will be relatively easy to catch up with the competition.
