Yuki Tsunoda has made an excellent impression during his first days at the AlphaTauri team. Franz Tost let it be known at the press conference, which included Formule1.nl, that the Japanese driver is picking up everything very well. Furthermore, the team boss states that he would like to return to Bahrain next year for the winter tests.
"I think he is very well prepared for the season. It's going very well for the time being," said Tost, who was then asked what is most impressive about the 20-year-old driver. "He learns quickly, is good in fast corners and strong under braking. There is a lot to learn in Formula 1, but the basics are there. He is a talented driver."

Back to Bahrain next year?

Where there were six test days last year, there are now only three. On top of that, the Barcelona circuit was used in 2020. If it's up to Tost we won't return to Spain prior to the season, but the number of hours that can be tested will have to be increased next season.
"For next year three test days are not enough and I am in favour of coming here because in Barcelona it rains one day and the next day it is 40 degrees and those are not good conditions for testing," said the Austrian. In 2022, new regulations will enter Formula 1, making it impossible to test for just 24 hours, according to Tost.
