Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will appear at the start on Sunday afternoon with new brake pads. Red Bull Racing has chosen to take precautions under parc fermé. This does not result in a grid penalty for either man.
The FIA has given permission for the brake change, as otherwise safety could possibly be compromised. The brakes are going to have a hard time this season with the new regulations. Red Bull found out from some routine checks that it would be better to change the brake pads.
Red Bull is the only team that has chosen to do so. All other drivers will drive Sunday afternoon with the same brake pads as they used in qualifying.
