A terrifying crash between two cars took place last weekend on July 5 during a Touristenfahrten session at the iconic Nürburgring circuit, fortunately without any serious consequences for the drivers.
A video that has gone viral on social media is sparking plenty of discussion among users online, and this time, it's not a
Formula 1-related incident.
Specifically, the footage captures the terrifying crash between two cars — a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a BMW M2 — from multiple angles.
In the footage from the 911’s perspective, the Porsche driver can be seen gradually pulling alongside the BMW, attempting an inside overtake just before one of the iconic corners of the German circuit.
The contact between the two cars was as slight as it was disastrous.
Both vehicles slammed violently into the barriers at high speed — the Porsche burst into flames and exploded into a fireball, while the BMW was left completely shattered, especially at the front end.
Social media users are divided over who bears more responsibility for a crash that could have clearly been avoided with greater caution.
Some argue that the Porsche driver attempted an overly ambitious overtake, while others believe the BMW driver should have left more space to avoid any kind of incident.
