Thanks to Nico Hulkenberg’s first-ever Formula 1 podium, Sauber makes an incredible leap forward in the Constructors’ Championship, while Red Bull continues to sink deeper and deeper.
Plenty of twists and turns were expected due to the unpredictable weather throughout the race—and that’s exactly what happened.
The heavy rain that hit the Silverstone circuit completely shook up the order, with Ferrari and Mercedes taking gambles that ultimately backfired.
A different story for the two McLarens, who showcased even more dominant pace in the downpour. A major disappointment, however, for Max Verstappen, who paid the price for opting for an extremely low-downforce rear wing.
Both Mercedes and Ferrari lost significant ground to McLaren, which now looks well on its way to a second consecutive Constructors' title. However, the team with the biggest regrets is undoubtedly Red Bull, once again walking away with just a handful of points—largely due to yet another finish outside the top 10 for Yuki Tsunoda.
