Helmut Marko is delighted with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez 's one-two in qualifying for the sprint race. It had been a while since we saw two RB19s start from the front row of the grid, so there are high hopes for a good number of points in Austria this Saturday.
"We adjusted our car gradually here, the conditions were a bit tricky," said Marko, who saw that plan of action work out well. In the end, Verstappen was half a second faster than runner-up Perez. "It is a bit surprising that Max has such a big lead, although it has to be said that he was the with two new sets of tyres. But: you saw again today what class he has."
There has been no measure of Verstappen in recent weeks. Everywhere the 25-year-old driver goes, he is the fastest and walks away with the prizes. So is this also the best Verstappen ever? Perez on the better side
Perez had a better qualifying session than on Friday, although in it he was particularly unfortunate as his time was taken away on three occasions for exceeding the track limits at Turn 1."Yesterday we were already saying that the speed was there. The thing with those track limits, that was just unfortunate. I hope it is a good motivation for him to be on the front row of the grid," the 80-year-old Austrian told Sky's German branch .
