According to Pirelli's calculations, the hard tyres should have lasted around forty laps, but that proved not to be the case during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Both Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen lost their left rear tyre. Jos Verstappen is not happy with Pirelli.
It's not the first time that the Italian tyre supplier has got their forecasts wrong and this is causing Max's father some frustration."What a joke," the former Formula 1 driver responded on Twitter.
Verstappen was on the verge of winning 26 World Cup points when he crashed out, but a blowout prevented that. The Dutchman was lucky that Hamilton messed up on the restart, leaving the differences at the top of the standings intact.
