Honda seems to be able to save engine: "Data shows no damage to power unit"

Pierre Gasly had to retire early on Sunday afternoon during the Hungarian Grand Prix. There was a lot of smoke coming out of his AlphaTauri and that was the end of the race for the Frenchman at the Hungaroring. For a moment it was feared that the Honda engine would have to be replaced again, but that turned out not to be the case.
Gasly had a problem with the driveline, but Honda's power unit was protected from damage. That's a good thing, because earlier in the weekend Daniil Kvyat's team mate received almost a complete engine after problems in free practice and qualifying.

To Autosport Web, Honda top man Toyoharu Tanabe goes into the situation: "It did look pretty bad," laughs the Japanese. "But the data shows us that there's no damage to the power unit, although I'm going to check it carefully now, just to be sure.
For Gasly, that would be good news, because otherwise it could be that at Silverstone in the fourth Grand Prix of the year, there's already a grid penalty waiting.
