Lewis Hamilton has praise for Marcus Rashford, a footballer from Manchester United. The seven-time world champion finds it admirable how his 23-year-old fellow countryman is fighting against food and poverty among children.
Thanks in part to his help, £20 million was raised, providing around 2.8 million children in the UK with free meals during the British lockdown. For this, Rashford also received a special award from the Greater Manchester County Council.
Hamilton is impressed. "By standing up for the most vulnerable in our society, and using his platform and influence to create positive change, Marcus inspired countless others to join him on this mission and cemented his status as a role model," he told Time 100.

Rashford impresses

The Formula One driver believes that Rashford truly serves as an example to many others. "In a year that showed us the power of working together toward a common goal, he was a galvanizing force behind uniting people across the U.K. in the effort to ensure that no child goes hungry. His determination, resilience and persistence have been truly inspiring. I cannot wait to see how he continues this important work."
