Hakkinen: "Red Bull must be able to keep up with Verstappen"

Two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Hakkinen states that if Max Verstappen wants to play a serious role in the championship, Red Bull Racing must also be in top form.

Hakkinen is impressed by the Dutch driver. "Verstappen is one of those drivers who will always give 110 percent. He also likes to take risks and goes full for it. That's great to see", says Hakkinen in the podcast of Unibet Finland.

Keeping up

Teamwork is more important than ever according to Hakkinen. "Formula 1 works differently now than it used to. It's no longer just about drivers, but also about teamwork. Of course this has always been the case, but now the emphasis is really on it."

"Both teamwork and communication must work perfectly within a team. Just having a strong driver is not enough. We know for sure that Verstappen will always give everything, but Red Bull must be able to keep up with him. Only then will he be really fast", Hakkinen ends.
