Several drivers have to fear a grid penalty. Max Verstappen is already going to be investigated after the session for an offence in the pit lane, but race control is going to investigate further. Once again, Verstappen is involved, as are the Ferrari and Mercedes drivers.
Between corners 16 and 19 in the closing stages of Q1, it was so crowded that drivers were almost impossible to get around. At the same time, drivers, including Logan Sargeant, were arriving on a fast lap. However, these drivers lost time because they were obstructed by drivers lining up for their fast lap.
Race control will now look at whether any drivers should be penalised for this. Verstappen is therefore also part of the group under scrutiny. So Max now has two investigations on his list.
