At Ferrari they are optimistic about plans for 2021. The Italian race team has some updates for the chassis, but especially the engine will be taken care of. Mattia Binotto's team will be aiming for no less than 30 hp more than last season.
That is what La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported this weekend. This would bring Ferrari back to the same level of engine power as during the dominant victories at Spa-Francorchamps and Monza in 2019. After this, the FIA intervened with extra guidelines, after which the team from Maranello suddenly dropped off.
The cars of 2021 are largely similar, so it seems an illusion that Ferrari can suddenly fight again next season with Red Bull Racing and Mercedes, but it is certainly likely that the gap will be a lot smaller. Indeed, there is much more potential in Ferrari's package.

Improvements to the SF21

For example, the floor will be provided with an update. The rear suspension will also be pressured according to the aforementioned source. During the winter tests we will get a first indication of how Ferrari is doing.
