Mercedes may not have grabbed a podium finish at the Monaco Grand Prix, but the German stable did good business in the battle for the constructors' world championship. The German team took 22 points and reduced the gap to number two Aston Martin to one point. Only Red Bull Racing took more points this weekend with Max Verstappen's first-place finish.
Aston Martin were credited with 18 points after the sixth GP of 2023 because of Fernando Alonso's second-place finish. Lance Stroll crashed and scored no points. For Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell scored more points than the British rival with respective fourth and fifth places. Alpine scored 21 points and moved up to fifth in the World Championship.
Red Bull Racing are still lord and master. Although Sergio Perez did not score any points, Verstappen's victory ensured that the Milton Keynes-based team once again outpaced the other nine teams in the premier class of motorsport.
